Todays, we have a wonderful day programmed for you, after breakfast we will be heading towards the stunning Sacred Valley. You will first encounter the beautiful landscaped until we reach our first stop in Pisaq, where we will visit the cheerful market located in the middle of the main square. The market is the busiest on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sunday, the locals take advantage to offer all kinds of products and souvenirs such as woven blankets, clothing, jewelry and so much more. Later on we will move to Ollantaytambo to witness the incredible enclosures of this fortress, your expert guide will give you further explanation of the purpose and theories about this impressive Inca construction.
By the afternoon, you will indulge in a delicious lunch to later on be transfer to the train station in Ollanytambo in order to board the train that will take to Aguas Calientes. Once you arrived you will be taken to your hotel and the rest of the day will be yours to explore of this peculiar town.
An early arise await you, as the highlight of your trip has arrived. Shortly, after a 30 min ride you will encounter Machu Picchu entrance where your guide will meet you.
Once you set a step inside this amazing citadel you will be amazed by its magnificence, your knowledgeable guide will explain and lead you toward the most important enclosures of the citadel while learning more about the Inca lifestyle and culture. When all your doubts were solver, you will have some time to wonder around the sanctuary at your leisure, capture these precious moments with many pictures.
As an option you also have the chance to hike up to Huayna Picchu mountain to access a more panoramic views or Machu Picchu if you would like a more tranquil walk, please note these are unguided hikes and have additional costs also they must be booked far in advanced. After you have accomplished your visit, it is finally to head down to Aguas Calientes by bus in order to reach the train and return to Cusco. Once in the train station your representative will transfer you to your hotel to rest after a rewarding day.
An early arise await us, as we delve into a drive through the Sacred Valley until we reach Mollepata village, where we will enjoy breakfast to warm up our bodies. Then we will head towards a Soraypampa, where is located the start point of the Salkantay Trek. As we begin to walk, the stunning views will immediately catch your eyes, if the day is clear and so the sky we will be able to witness the grandiosity of Salkantay and Humantay, these snowcapped mountains are known as “Apus” which mean guardians mountains, in these case of the Salkantay Pass.
The walk will take around an hour and a half until we reach the lake at a regular pace since this excursion has moderate to challenging parts, of course any effort will be forgotten as soon as you lay eyes on the turquoise waters contrasting the blue sky. Also, keep in mind that you may want to consider renting a house (for an extra cost) in case you do not feel like walking. Once we have arrived you will have some time at your lisure to capture these precious moments and scenary with your camera.
We will also make an offering to the Apus for them to look after our hike and for the bravest ones to swim, only if the weather allows it.
After we have enjoyed of this break, we will begin with our descending towards Soraypampa, this part will be much easier than the first one. As we arrived to the village we will be welcome with a rewarding lunch to recover the lost energy, later on it will be time to start our journey back to Cusco.
When you have finished with breakfast, a representative will be ready to transfer you to the bus station and board the touristy coach that will take you to Puno. This is golden route will impress you as is one of the most beautiful ones in Peru, as you cross by the Altiplano a vast and high plateau that covers territory over Peru, Bolivia, Argentina and Chile.
On our way, we will do some stops in the most important highlights such as Inca ruins, museums and small villages where you will have the chance to stretch and relax. Also, we will make a special stop right in the highest point of our journey at La Raya (4319m) we highly recommend you to capture this moment with your camera. On our arrival to Puno, another View Latin America representative will be awaiting you to take you to your accommodation.
Once you have enjoyed breakfast, we will take you to an incredible adventure through the Titicaca Lake, which is the largest Lake in South America and the highest navigable lake around the world.
The Lake has been worshipped since ancient times, and its rich in culture and famous due to the floating islands made of reed that moved into the Lake seeking for shelter and avoid the enemies that live in the shores, and that we will be lucky to explore on today’s adventure. Our first stop will be straight into the Uros islands, once there you will be welcome by some members of the community that will explain more of the built the impressive islands and boats.
To continue with our tour, we will then move to Taquile to experience a heartwarming experience as you witness the lifestyle of the locals that has maintain on a very small scale of agriculture and farming. Also, you will be amazed but how skilled weavers they are, while your expert guide takes you around the island until is time to enjoy of lunch prepared with ingredients that had grown in the area. By the afternoon, you will be taken back to Puno, after you have enjoyed of this incredible experience.
After you have enjoyed breakfast, at the most opportune and according to your flight schedule your View Latin America representative will be ready to transfer you to Juliaca airport for you board your flight back home.
