Ballestas Islands: See native wildlife such as penguins, sea lions, marine birds and sometimes even dolphins or whales. The tour of the ‘poor man’s Galapagos’ lasts about 2 hours and begins at 08:00am or 10:00am.

We recommend staying in Paracas at least 1 night.

This will allow you to do BOTH the Ballestas Islands and the Paracas National Reserve (not possible to do both unless you stay a night).

This also allows time to do some other activities, as well as get to know your other Hopsters on your 1st night of your trip as most people usually go out for food and drinks together.

Buses depart at 12:30pm sharp.

Dune buggy and Sandboarding: Guaranteed to be one of the most adrenaline-filled activities you’ve experienced in your life! Dune Buggy through the dunes of the desert, sandboard down and finish it all off by taking some stunning snaps of the desert sunset at the end. The tour begins at 16:00pm and lasts 2 hours.

We recommend at least 1 night in Huacachina as this gives you time to do the Dune Buggy and Sandboarding, as well as the Pisco Vineyard Tour and still have enough time to climb the dunes and marvel at the incredible Oasis. Huacachina is also famous for its nightly BBQ and our guides often host free salsa lessons.

Nazca Lines Flight: If you want to do the Nazca Lines Flight, you can sign up for the private shuttle service (cost: $15) that we help organize through our onboard guide. The shuttle departs Huacachina at 7:30 am, you take the flight at 11 am and then you can meet our Peru Hop bus at 7 pm in Nazca.

Colca Canyon Tour or Trek:

• 1 day tour (not much walking/trekking): Starts at 3am, finishes 5pm same day. Ideal for those very short on time
• 2 day/1 night tour (not much trekking): Starts at 8am, finishes 5pm the next day. A more relaxed trip to the canyon with an overnight stay in local town of Chivay. Possible to start this tour on same day the Peru Hop bus arrives.
• Treks: 2day and 3day options. Start at 3am. The harder option as you trek down into the Canyon but what goes down must come up. 1 day altitude acclimatisation needed before starting any trek.

We recommend spending at least 2 nights in Arequipa so that you have plenty of time to enjoy the “White City” (a nickname for Arequipa which comes from its architecture of white volcanic sillar stone). You can visit Colca Canyon from here, the second biggest canyon on the planet. You can also visit Misti, an impressive snow-capped volcano overlooking the city. If planning a tour/trek of Colca Canyon make sure to add a day or 2 to your schedule. Ask our guides if you need some help deciding!
